Job Description

The Royal Women's Hospital offers a comprehensive Psychiatry consultation-liaison service, and outpatient perinatal and gynaecology service as well as a Women's Alcohol and Drug Service (addiction in pregnancy) service.

About the Role

The Psychiatry HMO will contribute to the provision of an effective and efficient consultation-liaison psychiatry service to meet the needs of women who are inpatients or outpatients of Royal Women's Hospital who have mental health problems.

HMOs undertake a range of learning opportunities in clinical and teaching aspects of Women's Mental Health.

A Regular Day Will See You
  • Provide a consultation-liaison perinatal service to women with mental health problems who are inpatients or outpatients of the Women's, supported and supervised by your supervising consultant e.g. assessment and management of antenatal and postnatal patients, gynaecology, oncology and other women's health patients, and involvement with NICU families
  • Work with other staff/units of RWH and provide advice, consultation and support to assist in the care of women with mental health problems.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans for patients with complex mental health needs
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research, best practices, and professional guidelines in Women's Mental Health
