About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Employee Relations Advisor to join our People & Culture team at Save the Children Australia. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering on our vision of a better world for children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coach leaders to manage and resolve employee relations matters efficiently and effectively, promoting a culture of accountability and high performance.
  • Lead the review, revision, and implementation of our key employee relations policies and procedures to ensure they align with legal requirements and best practices.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to equip leaders with the skills and knowledge needed to manage employee relations effectively.
  • Ensure our employee relations tools, templates, and processes comply with Australian and Pacific industrial relations legislation.
  • Review and refine our key employee relations tools and templates to support the People and Culture team and Line Leaders.
  • Manage Fair Work Commission matters and support the review and go-forward approach to our Industrial Instruments.
  • Develop leader resources and references to enable leader-led interpretation of Award, EA, and Fair Work provisions.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law, or a related field (a postgraduate qualification or professional certification in industrial relations is advantageous).
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial relations or a related field, preferably within a Community Services organization with a geographically dispersed and diverse workforce.
  • In-depth understanding of Australian industrial relations laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Experience working in remote communities and cultural expertise with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workforces.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, and the demonstrated ability to manage sensitive issues with discretion and integrity.
