About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Leader, Platform Engineering to join our Digital Business Solutions team at Queensland University of Technology (QUT).

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and embedding a culture of immutable and componentised architecture for our core systems and platforms.

This role will lead the technology shift from monolithic and manually configured applications to managed, secure, scalable, pipelined platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a culture of immutable and componentised architecture for our core systems and platforms.
  • Lead the technology shift from monolithic and manually configured applications to managed, secure, scalable, pipelined platforms.
  • Work closely with portfolio, cloud engineering, and security teams to lead the automation of infrastructure processes.
  • Assist in developing managed application environments that enable functional portfolio teams to focus on features instead of foundational services.
Requirements
  • Education, training, and/or relevant experience equivalent to postgraduate qualification.
  • Extensive relevant experience within Platform Engineering or Systems Administration.
  • Proven leadership ability with experience in cultivating a dynamic agile team culture.
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain productive and collaborative working relationships.
  • Proven success in contributing as a technical expert as part of a team.
  • Proven experience in Infrastructure as code, systems administration, networking concepts, enterprise monitoring solutions, and enterprise containerisation solutions.
