Job Description:

As a key member of our small team of nurses, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional treatment experiences for patients. This will involve providing excellent patient care, ensuring patients' physical and psychological needs are met. You will also undertake direct patient care including education, wound management and medication administration as per Practice Protocol.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver Best Practice Radiation Oncology Nursing Services
  • Provide Excellent Patient Care
  • Undertake Direct Patient Care Including Education, Wound Management and Medication Administration
  • Effectively Manage Patients Seen Each Day
  • Facilitate Effective Lines of Communication with Doctors, Patient Services, Physicists and Radiation Therapists
  • Ensure All Patient Interaction is Documented, Communicated and Actioned
  • Monitor and Maintain Procedures, Protocols, Practices and Clinical Guidelines in Line with Best Practice Radiation Oncology Nursing Standards
  • Ensure Medication Management Protocols are Followed
  • Use ISBAR Communication Tool for Handover of Patients and Communication with Allied Health Services Along with Documentation
Requirements:
  • Current AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum 2 Years Postgraduate Experience (Preferred)
  • Background in Oncology Nursing but Not Essential. Training in Radiation Oncology Nursing Will Be Provided
  • Exemplary Interpersonal Communication Skills with the Ability to Demonstrate Empathy for All Patients and Their Carers
  • Well-Developed Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
  • Commitment to the Application of Best Practice Principles and Quality Improvement Including the NSQHS
  • Commitment to Continuing Professional Development
  • Experience in Wound Care Management
