Job Title: Experienced Radiation Oncology Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate radiation oncology nurse to join our multidisciplinary team. As a registered nurse with extensive experience in oncology nursing, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care and collaborating with healthcare professionals to provide best practice radiation oncology services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive patient care, addressing patients' physical and psychological needs.
  • Deliver direct patient care, including education, wound management, and medication administration in accordance with established protocols.
  • Effectively manage patient interactions, ensuring seamless communication with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Facilitate open lines of communication with doctors, allied health services, and physicists, providing timely updates on patient information.
  • Document all patient interactions and maintain accurate records.
  • Monitor and uphold adherence to best practice radiation oncology nursing standards, clinical guidelines, and procedures.
  • Ensure proper medication management practices are followed.
  • Utilize ISBAR communication tool for effective handovers and collaboration with allied health services.
  • Embody reliability, motivation, and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
  • Be required to travel between clinics in Noosa and Buderim.
Requirements:
  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum 2 years postgraduate experience (preferably in oncology nursing).
  • Background in oncology nursing (not essential; training provided). Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills with empathy for all patients and their carers.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to best practice principles and quality improvement, including NSQHS.
  • Continuing professional development commitment.
  • Experience in wound care management.
