Job Title: Cyber Security Director

About the Role
  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to lead our cyber security efforts, protecting our information and systems across multiple areas.

This senior leadership role will be responsible for delivering expert, contemporary cyber security services while building trust and confidence in our digital environment. As a leader, you will influence and communicate the strategic direction for cyber security across the organisation, driving change and continuous improvement in our cyber resilience capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead technical capability to deliver secure, compliant and reliable systems that support business objectives.
  • Take on a leadership role in one or more areas within the branch: cyber security operations, governance, strategy or program portfolio management.
  • Develop robust policy and strategic advice to protect ATO and taxpayer information.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders and IT service providers to ensure compliance with legislative, contractual, and organisational obligations.
  • Lead and deliver cyber education and awareness initiatives to foster a positive security culture.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cyber security, excellent leadership and communication skills, and experience in managing teams and projects. They will be able to think strategically, drive change and implement new security capabilities to meet organisational requirements.

Requirements
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
  • Proven experience in cyber security leadership or management.
  • Strong technical knowledge of security frameworks and policies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to think strategically and drive change.
