Lab Technician Job Description:

This position is responsible for the management and operation of the science laboratory area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the efficient operation of the science laboratory area
  • Develop and implement operational guidelines and practices in laboratory
  • Coordinate use of all science materials around the school
  • Keep accurate records of classroom experiments

Finance Management:

  • Write and maintain a lab inventory list and assets
  • Prepare budget proposals and manage the science budget throughout the year
  • Negotiate with suppliers to equip the science lab and its furniture

Teacher and Student Support:

  • Provide technical support to all science staff
  • Induct new teaching staff on laboratory procedures

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated capacity to work and collaborate with others in a team environment
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to coordinate use of science materials and equipment
