The Talent Pathways Boys Head Coach is responsible for leading the development of talented young footballers, predominantly between 15 and 19 years of age, in a well-balanced high-performance environment. The role involves planning, managing, and leading a talented player pathway program that supports the development and progression of well-prepared young athletes ready for AFL and AFLW football.
This position requires maintaining a safe, inclusive, respectful, and enjoyable environment for all those involved in the program. The Head Coach must focus on individual player development rather than team success and provide an integrated program between girls and boys with head coaches regularly cross-pollinating. Regular player feedback and vision edits are also facilitated, and the ability to identify and develop athletes from diverse backgrounds is essential.
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide a positive and supportive coaching environment.
- Develop and implement coaching strategies that cater to the needs of individual players.
- Work collaboratively with other coaches to achieve shared goals.
- Identify and develop talented young footballers who demonstrate potential for future success.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Minimum Level 2 AFL Coaching Accreditation or ability to obtain.
- Experience in working with young people, preferably in a football setting.
- Demonstrated personal initiative and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
As a valued member of our team, you will enjoy:
- A competitive salary and benefits package.
- The opportunity to work with a talented group of young footballers and coaches.
- Professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
We strive to be a workplace for everyone and welcome Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to apply. We are committed to promoting and protecting the safety and wellbeing of children and young people in our care. Our roles may vary, but we are united by a common goal: to progress the game so that everyone can share in its heritage and possibilities.
