Crane Technician

We are seeking a skilled Crane Technician to join our team. As a Crane Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing overhead cranes and other lifting equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and maintain overhead cranes and hoists
  • Perform OSHA equivalent inspections, document and complete warranty work, troubleshoot breakdowns
  • Perform preventive maintenance and respond to emergency service/breakdown calls
  • Support customers by effectively interfacing with customer and office in repairing equipment as needed
  • Perform electrical and/or mechanical adjustments or repairs with or without engineered drawings
  • Maintain rapport with customers by examining complaints, identifying solutions, suggesting improved methods and techniques, and recommending system improvements
  • Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, and inspection checklist
  • Maintain professional presentation, timeliness, appearance, and organization in all areas
  • Develop a working knowledge of Federal, State, and local codes for overhead cranes and hoists
  • Responsible for company equipment including company vehicle(s), tools, etc.

Requirements:

  • 5 or more years' troubleshooting cranes and hoist equipment is required
  • Experience with 3-phase motors, VFDs, contactors, and circuits
  • Previous overhead crane and scissor lift experience required
  • Associate's degree with concentration in Industrial Electrician, Electro-Mechanical Technology, or related field
  • Ability to work at height, in extreme temperature and noisy locations. This is a physically demanding job involving standing, walking, sitting and the ability to lift 50-100lbs
  • Perform inspections to OSHA criteria
  • Ability to work independently
  • Capable of dealing directly with the customer and representing self and company in a professional manner
  • Communication skills both internally and externally, informing both the company and the customer the status of the job
  • Quality and results driven while maintaining a safety mindset
  • Required to use own hand tools and meter
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record
