About Us


As a firefighting professional, you will be part of an emergency service agency responsible for ensuring the safety of people and property across Queensland through effective prevention, preparation, response, and recovery activities.



We comprise the Fire and Rescue Service, the Rural Fire Service, and the State Emergency Service, supporting other volunteer groups providing emergency response to Queenslanders.



Our collaborative approach delivers improved safety outcomes for the community. As a team member, you will respond to fire and other emergency incidents, promoting community safety and emergency preparedness through community education activities.



Your Key Accountabilities:

  • Attend fire and other emergency incidents in a safe and effective manner
  • Promote community safety and emergency preparedness through education and outreach programs
  • Develop and maintain competencies by participating in regular drills and training courses
  • Maintain required attendance standards for emergency incidents and training
  • Operate specialist firefighting equipment safely and effectively
  • Contribute to upkeep and hygiene of station facilities
  • Ensure maintenance and repair of operational equipment and station facilities
  • Assist with incident reporting and general station administration as needed
  • Promote a positive team approach in all work activities
  • Comply with legislative, policy, and procedural requirements relevant to the position
  • Communicate effectively with QFES personnel, other emergency service providers, and the general community
  • Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to organisational health principles and procedures

Salary:


The estimated salary range for this position is approximately $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
