Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) is a leading emergency service agency responsible for ensuring the safety of people and property across Queensland. Our services include fire and rescue, emergency management, and disaster response.

About the Role

The Auxiliary Firefighter role is a critical part of our team, providing support in responding to emergency incidents and promoting community safety and emergency preparedness. As an auxiliary firefighter, you will be required to attend incident and emergency calls, participate in regular drills and training sessions, and contribute to community education activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency incidents as a member of a team
  • Promote community safety and emergency preparedness through community education activities
  • Participate in regular drills and training sessions to maintain competencies
  • Attend 75% of regular drill and training sessions
  • Operate specialist firefighting and rescue equipment in a safe and effective manner

About Us

As an emergency service agency, QFES is responsible for ensuring the safety of people and property across Queensland through the provision of effective prevention, preparation, response, and recovery activities across a range of emergency situations. We comprise the Fire and Rescue Service, the Rural Fire Service, and the State Emergency Service, supporting other volunteer groups providing emergency response to Queenslanders.
