About the Role
Cummins Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Supply Chain Manager to lead efforts within one or more Supply Chain functions, including materials, production, inventory, logistics, demand management, and order fulfillment. As a key member of our team, you will ensure internal and external customers' expectations and requirements are met from end to end in each of the supply chains.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations across functions to ensure a dependable and efficient supply chain.
- Lead continuous improvement projects that align with Cummins Operating System and Functional Excellence direction and leverage common processes, tools, and information systems.
- Lead a team of planners to partner with respective segment teams to ensure alignment between demand and supply.
- Work cross-functionally and connect globally to improve interactions that deliver positive stakeholder experiences.
- Actively support deployment of new systems, work to improve cross-functional and internal handoffs that increase operating efficiencies and promote positive working environments.
- Support Corporate Supply Chain initiatives and lead the cross-Business Unit planning processes to ensure intra-company alignment.
- Mitigate long-term supplier constraints by collaborating with functional stakeholders.
- Create common supply chain processes and procedures by establishing collaborative business partner relationships.
- Approach daily problem-solving and continuous improvement opportunities strategically and tactically to achieve performance targets.
- Develop, understand, and improve necessary Key Performance Indicators.
- Analyze operational trends and develop corrective action plans.
- Address supply chain failures promptly to ensure operations stability; escalate as appropriate.
- Prepare and manage an annual operating plan, including expense resources and capital.

- Inventory Management and Optimization - Uses analytics and algorithms to determine the optimal level of inventory investment across the end-to-end supply chain within specific constraints (warehouse space, customer delivery, etc.); provides guidance and expertise on planning parameter refinement; develops inventory strategies to support Cummins' strategy and not just a business unit strategy.
- Materials KPI Management - Operates in relation to recent or historical outputs as compared to expectations of the organization to determine next steps to drive improvement; assesses gaps to the supply chain performance against the expectation of achieving target deliverables; interprets KPIs to understand end-customer impact; strategically balances trade-offs to influence one KPI while minimizing the impact to others.
