Accountant Role

As a skilled Accountant, you will play a key part in ensuring the financial stability and regulatory compliance of our transport operations.

  • Maintain accurate and timely financial records, including tax returns, BAS, GST, Fuel Excise, and other related submissions, in line with ATO requirements.
  • Oversight of daily financial processes, encompassing payroll management, accounts payable and receivable administration, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare and manage monthly and year-end financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
  • Implement and maintain robust financial controls tailored to the transport sector, such as fuel excise tracking, fleet depreciation management, subcontractor cost verification, and accurate freight revenue reporting.
  • Analyze operational costs against budgets, focusing on fleet efficiency and logistics expenses.
  • Coordinate and oversee accounts receivable, credit control, customer aging analysis, and debt collection activities.
  • Track, reconcile, and report on fleet lease agreements, repayment schedules, and related financing activities.
  • Manage financial reporting related to insurance recoveries from fleet damage, cargo claims, and other operational incidents.
  • Maintain inventory accounting for spare parts, tyres, lubricants, and consumables.
  • Monitor adherence to company credit policies and assess debtor risk exposure.
  • Support the development of long-term business strategies, capital allocation plans, and investment proposals, including fleet expansion and infrastructure development.
  • Deliver clear, timely, and insightful financial reports to senior leadership to inform strategic decisions regarding operational efficiency and business growth.
  • Liaise with financial institutions and brokers to secure and manage funding for fleet acquisitions, equipment financing, and working capital needs.
