Electrical Engineer - Senior Position

This senior electrical engineer position is ideal for an experienced professional with strong expertise in switchboards, switchrooms, and outdoor enclosures within a design or manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design, development, and delivery of electrical switchboards, switchrooms, and outdoor enclosure solutions. They will also provide technical leadership across engineering design, drafting, and manufacturing processes.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing and reviewing electrical drawings, schematics, and single line diagrams (SLDs).
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards, electrical codes, and client specifications.
  • Collaborating with project managers, manufacturing teams, and clients to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Conducting technical reviews, risk assessments, and quality checks on electrical designs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in switchboard, switchroom, or enclosure design and/or manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of LV/MV electrical systems, protection schemes, and distribution equipment.
  • Proven ability to lead engineering projects from concept through to delivery.
  • Excellent knowledge of relevant Australian Standards (e.g., AS/NZS 61439, AS/NZS 3000).
  • Strong CAD/drafting interpretation and design review capability.
  • Experience in the water sector, utilities, or infrastructure projects (desirable but not essential).
  • Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
