Senior Financial Accountant

The successful candidate will lead the preparation of financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards and public sector reporting requirements. This includes compiling documentation for audit readiness, managing general ledger entries, month-end processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting packs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare financial statements in line with Australian Accounting Standards and public sector reporting requirements.
  • Compile documentation for audit readiness, including liaison with internal business units.
  • Manage general ledger entries, month-end processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting packs.
  • Collaborate with auditors and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely, and complete audit deliverables.
  • Identify gaps and risks in financial data, ensuring precision and consistency across reporting.
  • Support EOFY processes and ensure all statutory reporting obligations are met within tight deadlines.
  • Recommend improvements to accounting procedures and internal controls to ensure efficiency and compliance.
About You:
  • Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is mandatory.
  • CPA or CA qualification is highly desirable.
  • Sound knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards (AASBs) and public sector financial reporting frameworks.
  • Experience using Oracle software is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
