Electrical and Mechanical Fitters are sought after by Yarra Trams to join their Condition Works Team. This team is responsible for ensuring that the rolling stock projects are completed according to agreed standards.

The ideal candidate will have experience in heavy project-based industries, strong communication skills, and the ability to provide technical advice to other tradesmen.

This is a great opportunity for a trade-qualified Electrician or Mechanical Fitter to make a significant contribution to the maintenance of Melbourne's tram network.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing electrical and mechanical tasks as allocated by the supervisor.
  • Identifying non-base trade-related faults during inspection activities and advising the supervisor.
  • Documenting and signing off all tasks performed in accordance with Yarra Trams processes.
  • Providing advice on trade-related issues as required.

What you need for this role:

  1. A completed apprenticeship as an Electrician or Mechanical Fitter trade.
  2. Experience working in heavy project-based industries an advantage.
  3. A current Victorian Drivers Licence.
  4. Availability to work on a 7 day per week rotating roster.
  5. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
