About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate professional to join our Foster Care team as a Senior Training and Review Officer. This is a part-time, fixed-term contract until 20 September 2025, based in Seaton.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver trauma training sessions to foster carers, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality care.
  • Conduct carer reviews, assessing their competencies and identifying areas for development.
  • Work with the Assessment Manager to develop and implement training programs, ensuring they meet the needs of foster carers and children.
  • Collaborate with the Seaton Admin team and external agencies to coordinate crèche services and foster carer events.
  • Monitor training outcomes, gathering feedback and evaluations to inform future training initiatives.
About You

We are looking for a professional with extensive experience in child protection, trauma-responsive care, and supporting children with high and complex needs. You will have a strong background in recruitment, assessment, and therapeutic care, with the ability to manage sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism.

Requirements
  • Social Work degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Environments for Children and Young People certification.
  • Understanding of therapeutic approaches for children and young people with trauma backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of Child Protection Legislation.
  • Understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Placement Principles.
  • Extensive Assessment/Case Management experience.
