Electrical Design Expert

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with expertise in Medium Voltage (MV) systems to join our Building Engineering Services team.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead the design process, coordinate with other engineering disciplines, and assume the role of design leader where required.

  • Assist with resource allocation for engineering projects within their control.
  • Design MV systems, including primary systems for substations.
  • Lead the development of concept and detailed designs for MV substation primary systems.
  • Produce system layouts, equipment lists, clearance checks, and short circuit force calculations for primary systems.
  • Oversee engineering design from concept to completion, ensuring projects meet design briefs and deadlines are met.

Required skills include a strong understanding of MV systems and relevant Australian Standards. The ideal candidate should possess consulting experience, a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis, and a Professional Engineer (PE) license. Additionally, they should have extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting, and signal design, including life safety systems and building management systems.
