Job Title: Policy and Quality Assurance Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Policy and Quality Assurance Manager to join our team at the Department of Education, Western Australia. As a key member of our Policy and Quality Assurance branch, you will play a critical role in shaping and implementing policies that support the registration of teachers and the accreditation of initial teacher education programs.

About the Role

The Policy and Quality Assurance Manager will provide expert strategic policy and regulatory advice to the Director and the Board regarding current and emerging matters that are strategically significant and have implications for teacher registration and the accreditation of initial teacher education programs. You will work closely with a cohesive and highly capable team to ensure a client-centred framework for stakeholder communication and engagement is established and maintained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that support the registration of teachers and the accreditation of initial teacher education programs.
  • Provide expert strategic policy and regulatory advice to the Director and the Board.
  • Work closely with the Policy and Quality Assurance team to ensure a client-centred framework for stakeholder communication and engagement is established and maintained.
  • Develop and review policy to align to strategic and business outcomes in a continuous improvement environment.
  • Manage and lead teams to deliver services within a regulatory environment.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in leading the development and analysis of policy and strategy with a demonstrated ability to apply this to the regulatory environment underpinned by the Act.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and sustain productive internal and external relationships.
  • Ability to represent the Department and provide high-level policy advice and support at an Agency and Board level.
  • Commitment to leading by example and promoting professionalism, probity, and professional development.
