About the Role

The Category Management Specialist is instrumental in shaping our Global Commercial arrangements and Operational relationships.

This role supports the Lead in the Earth Moving Tyres Category, developing and executing globally focused category strategies while managing Supplier Relationship Management for Tier A vendors within the category.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Building trusted relationships with key asset and functional stakeholders.
  • Supporting the delivery of initiatives related to Earth Moving Tyres.
  • Staying abreast of key external trends and market dynamics.
  • Driving collaboration through cross-functional teams to identify and execute opportunities to reduce Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
  • Developing and implementing sourcing strategies to drive total value chain outcomes related to external spend.
  • Effective communication of strategies to all levels of internal stakeholders.
  • Providing input and support into the overall EMT Strategy, including the development of a Global strategy and components like EMT recycling and service provider optimization.

Role Principles:

  • A trusted partner to operational stakeholders regarding external spend in relevant categories.
  • An in-depth understanding of the category, including technical knowledge, demand analysis, spend analysis, and market dynamics.
  • Develops innovative, value-driven, multi-year category strategies by developing deep category knowledge, market intelligence, awareness of technological developments, emerging markets, and detailed business needs.
  • Collaborates across Supply (Region, Global, and sub-functions) and Operations stakeholders across Australia to develop and execute category and sourcing strategies.
  • A business partnering approach to value creation.

  • Strategic mindset, ability to create value through vendor relationships, and a proven track record of challenging mindsets and identifying opportunities in strategic relationships.
  • Advanced interpersonal and communication skills essential for building constructive long-term relationships.
  • Experience in problem-solving, innovative thinking, and aligning stakeholders to drive outcomes.
  • Demonstrated value delivery to internal stakeholders across all levels.
