The Traffic Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient flow of traffic on roadways, highways, and other transportation networks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Investigating and managing traffic-related incidents
  • Overseeing the safe and compliant delivery of traffic management services
  • Conducting regular site inspections and audits of permanent and temporary traffic management
  • Coordinating with site teams and traffic management contractors for day-to-day traffic management requirements
  • Amending and updating traffic plans as required
  • Identifying opportunities for improving traffic management on site
  • Conducting risk assessments, hazard identifications, and document control
  • Compiling lessons learned and safety hazards for weekly toolbox meetings
  • Attending site pre-starts
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current SafeWork NSW Traffic Control Work Training Card for the following types of Traffic Control work: Prepare a work zone traffic management plan (PWZTMP), Implement traffic control plans (IMP), and Traffic Controller (TCR)
  • A White card
  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Previous experience delivering major projects, preferably in a top-tier contractor or subcontractor
  • Experience developing swept path assessments
  • An intimate understanding of the necessary resources required to meet both short-term and long-term traffic management requirements set out in Traffic Control at Work Sites Technical Manual
  • Previous experience in the coordination of Traffic Control Subcontracts
  • Understanding of the Road Occupancy License (ROL) process
  • Experience in auditing traffic management implementation and demonstrated ability to work with Traffic Control Subcontractors to implement changes necessary to ensure safety of workers and the general public are maintained at all times
