As a Senior Consultant or Manager – Valuation Modelling and Economics, you'll join our Valuation Modelling and Economics (VME) team. You'll advise clients on preserving, optimising, raising or investing capital. Our major groups include Mergers and Acquisitions, Project Finance, Corporate Restructuring, Operational Transaction Services, Transaction Support, Transaction Tax, and Valuation, Modelling, and Economics.

 

You'll support clients regarding valuation matters in various contexts, including transactions, portfolio assessment & optimisation, restructuring, and strategic planning. This work will help clients address commercial, financial reporting, tax, regulatory, and strategy-related issues.

 

This is a hybrid position based in Brisbane or Sydney. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours.

 

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Work within small project teams to undertake valuations of businesses and intangible assets for various purposes, including management planning, mergers and acquisitions, tax, financial reporting, and disputes.
  • Take ownership for delivery of projects within each team, managing and preparing valuation reports, which may include assessing strategic options for transformation initiatives and detailed financial modelling and analysis.
  • Think critically, identify issues, and propose strategies related to the advice being provided.
  • Maintain positive, productive, and professional relationships with client personnel, other project teams, and colleagues.

 

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree and approximately 3 to 7 years of relevant work experience.
  • A degree in finance, economics, accounting, or business, with demonstrated aptitude in quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Direct experience utilising various valuation techniques and methodologies (market comparables, discounted cash flow, etc.) for different purposes.
  • Experience in financial modelling in MS Excel and related software preferred.
  • Experience conducting valuations for accounting and/or tax planning purposes desired.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, organisational, interpersonal, and teaming skills.
