Disability Support Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to provide essential support to individuals with disabilities, helping them to achieve their personal goals and enhance their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
  • Develop and maintain individualised care plans in collaboration with clients and their families.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other professionals to ensure continuity of care.
  • Support clients in accessing community resources and engaging in social activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of client progress and any changes in their condition.
  • Drive clients to appointments or community activities as needed.
  • Provide childcare support for families with children who have disabilities, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with clients and team members.
  • Ability to drive is highly desirable for transporting clients as required.
  • Familiarity with developing care plans tailored to individual needs is beneficial.
  • Experience in childcare is an advantage, particularly when supporting families with children who have disabilities.
  • A caring attitude, patience, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team are crucial for success in this role.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in a related field (Social Work, Psychology, etc.)
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Police Check
