About the Role

Lifeblood is seeking a skilled Donor Services Nursing Assistant (Phlebotomist) to join our team at the Wangaratta Donor Centre. As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting donors through their donation process, while working collaboratively to achieve collection targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and interview potential donors to understand their eligibility and suitability to donate
  • Complete routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests
  • Set up machines, various tubing and collection bags
  • Insert and remove needles safely to collect whole blood, plasma, and platelets
  • Monitor donors post-donation and assist them to rebook for their next donation

Requirements

  • Occasional lifting of up to 22.7kgs
  • Frequent standing, walking, and bending to set up and pack down machines and blood products
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts on a fortnightly rotating roster from Tuesday to Friday
