About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Officer to join our team at the University of South Australia. As a key member of our Clinical and Health Sciences Academic Unit, you will be responsible for the technical administration and operations of our teaching laboratories. Your expertise will ensure the safe and efficient operation of our facilities, providing exceptional support to students, academic staff, and external users.

As a Technical Officer, you will contribute to our mission by providing expert technical support and maintaining high standards in laboratory operations.

About the Position

The successful candidate will possess a tertiary qualification in a relevant field and/or extensive knowledge and experience in coordinating, operating, and maintaining teaching and research laboratories. You will demonstrate high-level organisational skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and a commitment to workplace health and safety. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to students, academic staff, and external users of the laboratories and spaces.
  • Maintain high standards in laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with WHS legislation and risk assessment strategies.
  • Develop and maintain quality systems, reports, and documents, and participate in continuous business and safety improvement processes.
