Rehabilitation Counsellor Role

The Graduate Rehabilitation Counsellor position at our organisation is an exciting opportunity for passionate graduates to make a real difference in the lives of those they treat. Our two-year Graduate Program will provide you with a well-rounded knowledge base and 1-1 mentorship from a senior clinician to ensure your success.

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals who want to support clients on their journey to return to work and life after physical or psychological injury. As a Rehabilitation Counsellor, you will be working closely with clients, providing them with guidance, tools, and resources to overcome barriers to employment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing initial assessment, psychometric testing, and brief interventions for job seekers with psychosocial and mental health barriers to employment
  • Performing new employment vocational assessments, transferable skills analysis, and recovery support
  • Conducting initial assessments with injured workers and case management for return to same employment
  • AUDITING AND REPORTING ON PSYCHOLOGICAL FUNCTIONAL CAPACITIES AND COMPLETE PSYCHOLOGICAL FUNCTIONAL ASSESSMENTS
  • Assessing and making recommendations on the effects of mental health and medical conditions on ability to work
  • Writing detailed case notes and reports
  • Working with veterans to support their psychosocial, medical, and RTW goals
  • Opportunity to provide Adjustment to Injury counselling and Vocational Counselling in-person and via phone to support clients' rehabilitation
Requirements:

To be eligible for this role, you must have:

  • A degree in Rehabilitation Counselling
  • Be eligible for ASORC or RCAA accreditation, upon graduating
  • Have graduated in the last 12 months or be graduating in 2025
  • Agree to a pre-employment national criminal check, prior to employment
  • Have full Australian working rights
  • Hold a full drivers' license, your own vehicle, and comprehensive insurance
