About the Role

AusNet Services Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Senior Secondary Engineer to join our Asset Management Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our transmission network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert technical input and support to ensure the reliability and efficiency of our asset management strategies for AusNet's transmission network.
  • Develop and implement asset management strategies and philosophies to optimize network performance.
  • Deliver expert input to protection, control, and automation device and scheme performance and technical specifications.
  • Contribute to the creation of equipment standards and maintenance policies to ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and relevant legislation.
  • Initiate and manage projects, from concept development to project handover, to drive business outcomes and improve network performance.
  • Support asset management and replacement initiatives to ensure the optimal use of resources and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain and audit asset-related databases and approve relevant technical documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Investigate and analyze equipment failures, draft reports, and create remedial actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Participate in regulatory and internal audits as needed to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in Engineering with considerable engineering/asset management experience.
  • Understanding of asset management practices, frameworks, and standards, including knowledge of regulatory frameworks and relevant legislation.
  • Expertise in developing and implementing strategic asset management plans to optimize network performance.
  • In-depth knowledge of protection, control, and automation devices and emerging trends, including experience with analysis and design software, relay software, and DigSilent.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
  • Advanced reasoning skills and engineering judgment to drive business outcomes and improve network performance.
