About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Secondary Engineer to join our team at Michael Page. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of energy infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise associated with protection relays, field devices, control devices, and auxiliary systems.
  • Asset Management: Provide expert input into asset management strategies and philosophies, and contribute towards maintenance policy/practices.
  • Project Management: Initiate projects, develop concepts, prepare business cases, and project handover documentation.
  • Network Operations: Support the implementation of asset management and asset replacement initiatives, and support Network Operations to achieve annual capital and operational works plans.
  • Investigations and Analysis: Assess and review the condition of installed protection, control, and automation assets, and investigate and analyze equipment failures or problems.
  • Decision Making: Make technical decisions in relation to protection, control, and automation schemes and devices, and approve relevant technical documentation.
  • Collaboration: Participate in regulator and internal audits as required, and provide support for emergency response events.
Measures of Success
  • Delivery of Capex and Opex Works Programs: 100% delivery of capex and opex works programs approvals for protection, control, and automation devices from year to year.
  • Documentation and Reporting: All protection, control, and automation devices documentation kept current from year to year.
  • Incident and Failure Investigations: Incident and failure investigations are completed within required timeframes to the required quality.
  • Audit and Investigations Actions: Audit and investigations actions are completed within the required timeframes.
  • Technical and Operational Support: Technical and operational support provided in required timeframes.
Requirements
  • Education: Degree qualified in Engineering.
  • Experience: 5+ years of engineering/asset management experience.
  • Skills: Demonstrated commitment to safety outcomes, understanding of Asset Management leading practices, frameworks, and relevant standards, and ability to lead and coordinate failure and incident investigations.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of distribution system components, equipment, and technologies, with a focus on protection, control, and automation devices and emerging trends and innovations.
  • Software: Knowledge of relevant software packages used for analysis and design of protection and control schemes.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
