Job Title: Clinical Nurse

This is a part-time permanent role within our Home and Community services in the Townsville region.

  • Provide specialist nursing care and clinical expertise to clients.
  • Lead and motivate staff while maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Apply advanced practice knowledge in community nursing or specific areas like palliative care, gerontology, or dementia.
  2. Manage clinical workload, including care plans, referrals, and service provision.
  3. Ensure responsive communication with clients and carers.
  4. Provide consulting and coaching to staff on specific cases or aspects of clinical practice.
  5. Contribute to high standards of clinical practice and undertake a client load under direction.
  6. Implement best practice problem-solving methodologies.
  7. Participate in clinical forums to review organisational practice.
  8. Undertake and promote clinical research, preparing results and findings.
  9. Assist with implementing new activities, systems, and organisational changes.
  10. Coordinate resources for effective operation of nursing services.
  11. Assist with clinical administration, including audits and claims preparation.

Requirements:

  • Current National Police Certificate.
  • Current Driver's Licence and own reliable vehicle.
  • Degree in Nursing.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Current AHPRA registration and evidence of recent practice.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Health or relevant area of clinical practice (desirable).
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the service region.
