Job Overview

A Senior Engineer plays a key role in the Technical Integration Team at an Energy Market Operator. This position is part of the System Design Division within a Future Energy Systems Department.

Role Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead engineering and analysis to define technical requirements for distributed energy resources (DER).
  • Lead projects addressing power system challenges from increasing DER, including standards, compliance, and evolving behaviors.
  • Drive collaboration and stakeholder engagement, providing strategic advice to support an integrated approach.
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to develop positions on technical requirements.
  • Prepare reports, recommendations, and presentations that translate complex technical issues for executives and external stakeholders.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring junior staff, and supporting key initiatives under the Engineering Roadmap to 100% Renewables.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Technology, or Science/Maths (with a power system focus), or equivalent relevant discipline or work experience.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office product suite.
  • Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary projects in distributed energy.
  • Skilled in preparing, reviewing, and finalising high-quality technical documentation and reports.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret and summarise complex data and insights.
  • Effective communication skills across diverse audiences and stakeholders.
