Energy Systems Expert

Seeking a seasoned Energy Systems Expert to spearhead our Distributed Energy Resources Technical Integration Team. As part of the Australian Energy Market Operator, you will be responsible for leading technical requirements definition and project management.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead engineering and analysis to define technical requirements for distributed energy resources.
  • Manage projects addressing power system challenges from increasing DER, including standards compliance, and evolving behaviors.
  • Provide strategic advice to support an integrated AEMO approach through effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to develop company positions on technical requirements.
  • Prepare reports, recommendations, and presentations that translate complex technical issues for executives, boards, and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Technology, or Science/Maths (with a power system focus).
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office product suite.

Desirable skills:

  • Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary projects in distributed energy.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret and summarise complex data and insights.
  • Effective communicator (written and verbal) across diverse audiences and stakeholders.
