Job Title: Academic Leadership Position

Our institution is seeking a highly accomplished academic leader to oversee its postgraduate studies portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in postgraduate education and leadership within the higher education sector.

They will demonstrate a strong commitment to innovation in research, teaching, and learning, and identify opportunities to engage in critical local, national, and international research and policy change.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective strategies for the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of postgraduate programs.
  • Oversee student progression, retention, and completion by developing targeted interventions and initiatives.
  • Champion student-centered approaches that enhance the student experience, including supervision quality and academic support.
  • Monitor and respond to student feedback and performance data to drive improvements.
  • Collaborate with senior academics and administrators to enhance teaching, research, and strategic initiatives.
  • Strengthen national and international profile through partnerships and engagement.
  • Drive curriculum quality and innovation in teaching and learning by fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, and succession within the discipline to ensure a sustainable talent pipeline.
  • Chair relevant committees and contribute to governance and strategic planning to inform institutional decision-making.
  • Ensure effective financial management and operational accountability to optimize resource allocation.
  • Lead performance development, workload allocation, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor academic integrity, risk, and quality assurance across the portfolio to maintain the highest standards.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and high-performing academic culture that fosters collaboration and innovation.
  • Initiate and design new course proposals in response to evolving market demands and emerging trends.
About You:
  • A PhD in a relevant Education discipline or related field.
  • An excellent scholarly record in teaching and research in Education, with a proven track record of publications and presentations.
  • Strong leadership skills to inspire and motivate colleagues, foster a cohesive team environment, and drive strategic objectives.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Capacity to lead change through effective consultation, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
  • Success in mentoring and coaching staff to achieve goals aligned with individual career progression and institutional priorities.
  • Proven experience in leading values-based cultures and promoting positive behaviors.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, from a pedagogical, student, and institutional perspective.
  • Willingness to teach offshore in international postgraduate courses and participate in global educational initiatives.
