Job Title: Lead Maintenance Technician

A high-achieving and results-driven maintenance expert is sought to lead our team of skilled technicians.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all milking systems on a large-scale dairy farm. This will involve performing routine maintenance tasks, calibrating equipment, and resolving technical issues in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform regular maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal functioning of milking systems, including calibration and repair of automated milking systems, service of refrigeration and milk cooling systems, and troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, and automation issues.
  • Team Leadership: Oversee a small team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance and support as needed to ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain system hygiene and ensure compliance with milk quality regulations to guarantee the highest standards of quality.
  • Project Management: Schedule and execute preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and optimize system performance.
  • Technical Expertise: Monitor system performance and make real-time adjustments to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  • Continuous Improvement: Recommend and implement upgrades for improved efficiency and automation, staying up-to-date with the latest industry developments and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering-related field or equivalent experience.
  • Recognized engineering discipline certification.
  • Minimum two years of practical experience in repairs of relevant systems.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and construction concepts, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a challenging and dynamic environment, with exposure to hazardous conditions, confined spaces, noise, dust, cold, and heat. The role requires standing, walking, sitting, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, talking, hearing, and using fingers and hands.
