Trade Measurement Specialist Leadership Opportunity

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced trade measurement specialist to lead our team in Sydney. As a key role in the Department of Industry, Science and Resources, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring trade measurement staff to deliver quality outcomes from Trade Measurement Services functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor trade measurement staff to achieve compliance targets
  • Establish local inspection priorities to meet compliance standards
  • Coordinate and conduct inspections of traders, packing houses, and licensees
  • Negotiate and liaise with stakeholders to provide high-level technical advice
  • Investigate breaches of trade measurement legislation and prepare briefs for enforcement actions
  • Educate stakeholders on trade measurement legislation and regulations
  • Supervise professional development and mentor staff

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a qualification that demonstrates appropriate knowledge or experience to be appointed as a Trade Measurement Inspector under section 18MA of the National Measurement Act 1960, and experience in leading a team operating in a regulatory environment is desirable.
