About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Social Worker to join our casual pool at Northern Beaches Hospital. As a Social Worker, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care, working in partnership with Medical Officers and other healthcare professionals to deliver assessment and evidence-based treatment in a coordinated and timely manner.
You will work with a diverse range of patients across various departments, including surgical, medical, critical care, emergency, maternity, paediatrics, and aged care. Additionally, you will participate in our social work weekend on-call crisis roster.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality social work assessment and intervention to patients in acute care settings
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver patient-centered care
- Participate in the social work weekend on-call crisis roster
- Meet the selection criteria outlined below
Selection Criteria
- Degree in Social Work and eligibility to the AASW
- Demonstrated experience working in an acute healthcare facility
- Highly developed social work assessment and counselling skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage workload demands, meet deadlines, and complete activities within scope of practice
