About the Role

As a social worker level 1/2, you will be responsible for providing high-standard clinical care, working in partnership with Medical Officers and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide assessment and evidence-based treatment in a coordinated and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide social work intervention to a wide variety of patients in acute care, including surgical, medical, critical care, emergency, maternity, paediatrics and aged care.
  • Participate in our social work weekend on-call crisis roster.

Selection Criteria

  • Degree in Social Work and eligibility to the AASW.
  • Demonstrated experience working in an acute healthcare facility.
  • Highly developed social work assessment and counselling skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage workload demands, meet deadlines and complete activities within scope of practice.
