Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Principal Strategic Planner to provide advice and support in developing, monitoring, and reviewing the local planning framework. The successful candidate will have expertise in complex planning, environmental, and coastal technical information, with strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with Elected Members, Planning Officers, and customers.
Key Responsibilities- To provide expert advice on the development and implementation of the local planning framework, including structure plans, Scheme amendments, and planning policies;
- To assess and determine the suitability of land uses, developments, and infrastructure projects;
- To prepare and review planning documents, reports, and presentations;
- To engage with stakeholders, including the public, developers, and other government agencies, to ensure effective communication and stakeholder management;
- To stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, policies, and industry best practices.
- Bachelor of Arts in Urban & Regional Planning;
- Seven to ten years of relevant strategic and statutory planning experience, with expertise in assessing and determining structure plans, Scheme amendments, and planning policies;
- Demonstrated understanding of the legislative planning framework and strategic and statutory planning processes in Western Australia;
- Extensive experience in project managing large-scale projects, including procurement and community consultation.
- A competitive salary range of $105,000 - $110,000 per annum pro rata, depending on skills and experience;
- Generous superannuation of up to 15.25%;
