Technical Services Director for Saltwater Busselton

The City of Busselton is seeking a dynamic and experienced Technical Services professional to lead our technical team at the new Saltwater Busselton venue.

As the Head of Technical Services, you will play a key role in setting up back-of-house procedures and practices for the new venue. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the flawless execution of events, driving event efficiency, and maintaining cost competitiveness for hirers. You will also be responsible for developing the skills and capabilities of staff within the Technical Services team.
To succeed in this role, you should have a strong understanding of theatre technical services and live events industry safety procedures. You will need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as proficiency in computer systems and network maintenance. Additionally, you should be highly organized with an excellent eye for detail.
We are looking for someone who can align with our values and has the following competencies:
- A tertiary qualification in Theatre Technical Services or related field (or demonstrated equivalent competency)
- Demonstrated experience managing a team of technical staff
- Demonstrated strong understanding of Work Health and Safety procedures and reporting within the live events industry
- Proficiency in computer systems, network maintenance, and computing skills, including AutoCAD and/or Vectorworks
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- A positive attitude and flexible approach to tasks
- Highly organised with an excellent eye for detail
