About the Role

This full-time position will provide complex planning, environmental, and coastal technical information and support to Elected Members, other Planning Officers, City employees, and customers.

As a Principal Strategic Planner, you will report to the Strategic Planning Coordinator and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to undertake various tasks associated with the development, monitoring, and review of the local planning framework.

Salary and Benefits

The successful applicant will receive a competitive salary ranging from $105,000 to $110,000 per annum, pro rata, dependent upon skills and experience. In addition, we offer generous superannuation of up to 15.25%.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advice and support to develop, monitor, and review the local planning framework.
  • Offer complex planning, environmental, and coastal technical information and support to stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and objectives.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor of Arts in Urban & Regional Planning.
  • Seven to ten years of relevant strategic and statutory planning experience in assessing and determining structure plans, Scheme amendments, and planning policies.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the legislative planning framework and strategic and statutory planning processes in Western Australia.
  • Extensive experience in assessing and project managing large-scale projects, including procurement and community consultation.
