You'll work closely with Combat, Engineering, Infantry, and Cavalry units to bring your designs to life. With opportunities for travel and cultural exchange, you'll develop a unique set of skills that will set you apart from non-military careers. You'll learn to conduct client briefings, site investigations, and prepare sketches to develop concept designs. You'll also create 3D CAD model flythroughs and apply building codes and regulatory requirements to develop design and documentation. With Initial Employment Training, you'll learn everything you need to know to succeed in this role. Upon completion, you'll be posted to Sydney, Brisbane, or Ipswich, where you'll have the opportunity to gain your Civil Construction Induction Card and further training in Building and Construction management. As a Draughtsperson, you'll be responsible for working autonomously, juggling multiple projects, and meeting tight deadlines. You'll have the opportunity to work on a range of military projects, from design and development to humanitarian assistance operations. This role is known as Drafting Technician within the Army, and you'll be vital to the success of our operations. With the Australian Defence Force, you'll have the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills, work in a dynamic and challenging environment, and make a real difference in the lives of others.
