This full-time position is based at our Brisbane Airport Hangar, offering a Monday-to-Friday schedule with flexible working arrangements available.

About the Role

The Aircraft Reliability Leader will provide strategic guidance and direction to the Reliability Team, focusing on effective management of the engineering CAMO functions of the Reliability Program for our operated fleet types.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure team compliance with Part 42 exposition (CAME), procedures (EBP2) and work instructions.
  • Technical Analysis: Ensure team technical analysis of performance data to optimize System & AMP, component reliability and increase component time on wing.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Lead the team by maintaining effective communication, mentorship, guidance, and performance management.
  • Performance Improvement: Initiate actions to enhance fleet performance to deliver reliability targets. Maintain continuous improvement by identifying and implementing system and process changes.
  • Model Leadership Behaviours: Model leadership behaviours and set clear performance indicators.
  • Training and Development: Ensure team training is accomplished in accordance with induction and company requirements. Ensure staff are set for success through team and individual training plans.
  • Roster Management: Responsible for monitoring effective deployment of staff via roster management and support when required. Oversee recruitment/selection of staff and contractors.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will need to have:

  • A minimum of 5 years relevant work experience, with at least 2 years in an Airline Technical Services Management role for aircraft of similar complexity or type.
  • An aircraft engineer license in category B1, B2 or equivalent, with type ratings and/or credits on current Virgin Australia aircraft types or similar aircraft types.
  • Extensive experience with airline Engineering and Maintenance systems (EMS).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
