Job Title:

Disability Care Specialist

Lifestyle Solutions provides individualized support for people with disabilities, empowering them to live independently and pursue their passions.

As a Disability Care Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Guiding customers in developing personal interests and hobbies through mentorship and skill development
  • Teaching cooking, domestic, and social skills to enhance daily living
  • Administering medication according to individual support plans
  • Providing clear and concise handover notes and incident reports
  • Assisting with personal care such as toileting, showering, feeding, and dressing when required
  • Helping customers engage with their local communities and culture through Community Participation Programs and recreational activities

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need versatile communication skills, including the ability to interact with both verbal and non-verbal customers. You must also be willing to work varied shifts, including overnights and weekends.

You will require:

  • A current Australian Driver's License (mandatory requirement)
  • A comprehensive car insurance policy
  • A current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or be willing to obtain)
  • A current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011)
  • Minimum 2 doses of Covid-19 Vaccinations
  • Formal qualifications in Disability, Community Services, or similar would be advantageous
