Brightside Recruitment is currently partnering with a large Not-For-Profit organisation that provides support services across Victoria and Melbourne, catering to the Child and Family sector.
Role Summary
This organisation is building a team of motivated and knowledgeable Family Services Case Managers. The successful candidate will empower families to share their story through trauma-informed engagement, information gathering, and planning processes, ensuring active family involvement in decision-making at each phase towards self-determination.
In addition, the Case Manager will serve as a key point of contact for the related service network. They will provide casework, group work, and service coordination, facilitating access to programmes, services, and activities that connect, protect, and heal families.
The chosen individual will be part of a newly created team, given the tools and guidance to grow and develop within the organisation.
Key Requirements
- Demonstrated commitment to self-determination and experience working effectively with Aboriginal people and organisations.
- Awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, with a commitment to continually build knowledge of such, along with awareness of the key issues impacting Aboriginal communities.
- Work experience in a relevant field that supports an understanding of child development and family functioning, including theories of attachment, intergenerational, and personal trauma, as well as relevant risk assessment frameworks, service responses, and interventions in working with vulnerable families.
- Demonstrated positive working relationships with other agencies in a service network, and experience with shared casework or group work.
- A current Victorian driver's license.
- A current Victorian Working with Children's Check.
- A current Police Check.
Additional Information
We seek a passionate, unbiased, client-focused person. A Bachelor in Social Work or other relevant tertiary education is desired. We offer SCHADS Level 4 plus super and NFP salary packaging benefits. Support and mentoring will be provided, along with room for growth and development.
