The Head of Special Education Services plays a pivotal role in leading the Inclusion team, collaborating with senior leadership to drive strategic initiatives and promote a culture of inclusivity.
This dynamic leader oversees the RAR model, inclusive budgeting, and timetabling, ensuring seamless execution of daily operations. The successful candidate will have expertise in managing inclusion agendas, NCCD coordination, and data collection, maintaining Personalised Learning Records (PLRs) and OSS snapshots.
Liaising with regional support staff, AVTs, and allied health professionals is crucial to delivering high-quality services. This includes developing, reviewing, and implementing Individual Health Management Plans and procedures, participating in curriculum teams, and conducting enrolment interviews for students with disabilities.
A key aspect of this role is supporting teachers in making reasonable adjustments and inclusive pedagogy, facilitating professional development and training for staff, and coordinating case management and specialist support.
Collaboration with senior leaders is essential in developing individualized behavior plans and risk assessments for students with disabilities, as well as managing data collection for NCCD students and supporting provisions on OneSchool.
About You- You must have proven experience leading inclusive education teams and possess excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with school leadership, teachers, and external stakeholders.
- In-depth understanding of inclusive education principles, RAR model, and Australian Curriculum is necessary.
- Ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team of professionals and liaise with allied health professionals, regional support staff, and parents is required.
