Job Overview

Australian energy system and market operator and system planner is looking for a skilled leader to head its engineering centre of excellence.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of up to ten individuals, overseeing key elements of Australia's energy future and collaborating with various teams to provide high-quality service and advice.

About The Role

As a senior leader, you will be accountable for developing and maintaining power system study capability, tools, models, and future state cases for technical investigations. You will also lead projects aimed at assisting project proponents in evaluating the service contributions of their assets.

You will work closely with AEMO's System Security Planning team and Transmission Network Service Providers (TNSPs) to prepare for future system transition points and deliver a program of planning studies.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the engineering centre of excellence, including attracting, retaining, nurturing, and developing a high-performing team that demonstrates innovation and inclusivity.
  • Develop and maintain power system study capability, tools, models, and future state cases for technical investigations.
  • Lead projects aimed at assisting project proponents in evaluating the service contributions of their assets.
  • Collaborate with AEMO's System Security Planning team and Transmission Network Service Providers (TNSPs) to prepare for future system transition points and deliver a program of planning studies.

Requirements
  • Proven experience in leading engineering teams and delivering complex projects.
  • Strong understanding of power system engineering principles and emerging technologies.
