Job Description

We are seeking an experienced leader to join our team in a strategic Line 1 role, to support the Financial Markets Group (FMG) identify, analyse and manage risks related to our operations in financial markets, enhance risk culture and progressively advance our risk management practices.

About the Role
  • This newly created role will build and develop a team of dedicated first line risk professionals. This team will support our management of material risks to ensure we stay ahead of an ever-evolving risk landscape.
  • The successful candidate will lead a team to develop and implement a strategy for risk transformation within FMG, supporting the design and management of processes and systems in FMG to ensure that the Bank's operations in financial markets support their policy and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategy for risk transformation within FMG.
  • Support the design and management of processes and systems in FMG to ensure that the Bank's operations in financial markets support their policy and operational objectives.
  • Advise on and develop frameworks for the analysis of the financial and operational risk implications of monetary and financial stability policies.
  • Collaborate with business areas to enhance business resilience, including the development and testing of contingency plans for both financial market and operational disruptions.
  • Support ongoing improvements to strategies, systems, and processes.
  • Support the preparation of papers for relevant Board and Management Committee meetings.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Working knowledge of central bank operations and/or Australian and international financial markets.
  • Working knowledge of risk management.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans at a section or department level.
  • Ability to lead risk transformation within a central bank or other financial institution.
  • Ability to apply risk management and practices to central banking operations, with the ability to navigate complex risk landscapes.
