Childcare Chef Position in a Not-for-Profit Early Learning Centre

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cook/Chef to join our team at an early year learning service located on seven acres of beautiful farmland.
This is a full-time role with consistent hours, Monday to Friday, 07:15- 3:15 daily. No weekend work means you can enjoy your free time without worrying about rosters or overtime.
Company OverviewOur client operates a stunning early-year learning service that caters to 130 children and has an excellent reputation in the local area. We pride ourselves on providing a supportive, nurturing, and fun workplace environment.
Key Responsibilities- The preparation and service of meals to children, including breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, and late supper, using a four-week rotating roster.
- Preparing meals to meet the needs of children with special dietary requirements and allergies.
- Ordering stock based on the current menu and ensuring all required items are delivered.
- Daily cleaning of all kitchen, trolleys, utensils, crockery, cutlery, and appliances.
- Liaising with parents for menu planning and the dietary needs of children.
- Ensuring the safe and hygienic storage, handling, and preparation of food and drink.
- Ordering food supplies in consultation with the centre director.
- Receiving and storing food and supplies and stock rotation.
- At least two years of experience working in a similar environment, such as long day care or aged care facilities.
- A friendly and approachable demeanour, taking pride in seeing empty plates.
- Demonstrated understanding of NSW Food Authority Guidelines.
- Ability to adjust the nutritionally balanced menu or recipe guided by best practices and in consultation with the service management team.
- High-level oral and written communication skills.
- Current Working with Children's Check.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and work within a team.
- Flexible and well-organised.

- Generous above-award remuneration (approximately $70,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience and skill).
