Nutrition Specialist for Early Childhood Development

Attracting a highly skilled Nutrition Specialist to drive the culinary excellence and healthy eating initiatives in our early learning centre is an exciting opportunity. This role will play a pivotal part in creating a positive food environment that nurtures the growth and development of young learners.
Job Summary:- This position requires a strong understanding of nutrition and health principles, with experience in menu planning and food preparation in a similar setting.

Responsibilities:
- Craft menus that meet special dietary requirements and allergies, using a four-week rotating roster.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, trolleys, utensils, crockery, cutlery, and appliances.
- Evaluate the nutritional content of meals and snacks, ensuring they are balanced and meet the needs of children.
- Collaborate with the centre director to plan and implement effective inventory management strategies.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with NSW Food Authority Guidelines.
Requirements:
- 1 year experience in a similar environment (e.g., long day care or aged care facility)
- Understanding of NSW Food Authority Guidelines
- Current Working with Children's Check
- Supervisors Certificate or willingness to obtain
- High-level oral and written communication skills
- Passion for nutrition/health and understanding of food's role in children's development
- Friendly, approachable demeanor with a can-do attitude
