The Opportunity
We're currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our Paint Finishing Department at our Port Kembla facility. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for maintaining our crane equipment to the highest standards, ensuring our objectives for safety, quality, and reliability are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair mechanical equipment, including cranes and other plant machinery
- Inspect and fault-find production and quality critical equipment
- Resolve issues and implement corrective actions to restore equipment to optimal performance
- Continuously improve maintenance practices and strategies to enhance equipment performance and reliability
- Plan and organize shutdowns using our maintenance management system (SAP)
Requirements
- Mechanical trade qualifications, with a strong technical background and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment conducting maintenance functions
- Experience with coordinating work using a computerized maintenance management system
- Strong attention to detail and ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently
