The Opportunity

We're currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our Paint Finishing Department at our Port Kembla facility. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for maintaining our crane equipment to the highest standards, ensuring our objectives for safety, quality, and reliability are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair mechanical equipment, including cranes and other plant machinery
  • Inspect and fault-find production and quality critical equipment
  • Resolve issues and implement corrective actions to restore equipment to optimal performance
  • Continuously improve maintenance practices and strategies to enhance equipment performance and reliability
  • Plan and organize shutdowns using our maintenance management system (SAP)

Requirements

  • Mechanical trade qualifications, with a strong technical background and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment conducting maintenance functions
  • Experience with coordinating work using a computerized maintenance management system
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently
