Wollongong Opportunity for a Graduate Mechanical and Piping Engineer

Hatch is seeking a highly motivated Graduate Mechanical and Piping Engineer to join our Mechanical & Piping Group in Wollongong. As a successful candidate, you will be responsible for preparing engineering calculations, project standard specifications, and technical specifications for mechanical equipment. You will also manage packages through their whole life cycle, from specifying requirements to expediting and reviewing vendor data.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare engineering calculations for hydraulic and conveying systems, as well as static equipment such as tanks, pressure vessels, bins, and chutes.
  • Prepare project standard specifications and design criteria.
  • Prepare scopes of work, technical specifications, and data sheets for mechanical equipment with input from other disciplines.
  • Manage packages through their whole life cycle, from specifying requirements to expediting and reviewing vendor data.
  • Work with designers to provide engineering input to 3D model and drawing development.
  • Respond to technical queries raised during the construction phase and commissioning of systems on site as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a strong academic record.
  • Leadership and teamwork skills.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to think laterally and innovatively.
  • Flexibility to travel and work in locations within Australia and internationally.
